Gold Ridge Mine Landslide
Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML) confirms that at approximately 00:45 AM on 27 July 2026, a localized slope movement occurred at the northwest edge of Open Pit 1.
Prior to the incident, GRML had already implemented precautionary safety measures, including restricted access and exclusion zones.
Currently, no injuries, fatalities, or equipment damage have been confirmed. Mining operations and construction activities continue without disruption.
Immediately following the slope movement, GRML activated its emergency response protocols:
โข Prohibiting entry of non-operational and external personnel into the affected area;
โข Reinforcing site security and maintaining full closure of the hazard zone;
โข Deploying technical teams to conduct inspections and advance stabilization and remediation work.
GRML continues to work closely with the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and other relevant authorities to ensure safety and stability at the site. Verified updates will be provided through official GRML communication channels.
