One day after the election of Rick Houenipwela as Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, 14 cabinet ministers in his Government took their oath of office.
Prime Minister Houenipwela and other senior Government officials witnessed the swearing-in ceremony at Government House today.
They ministers are:
Manasseh Sogavare, MP, as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Ministry of Finance and Treasury;
John Maneniaru, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources;
Peter Shanel Agovaka, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Communication and Aviation;
John Dean Kuku, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development;
Jimson Fiau Tanagada, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Home Affairs;
Bradley Tovosia, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Mines and Energy;
Freda Tuki, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs;
Moses Garu, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Police and National Security;
Andrew Manepora, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Lands and Housing;
Bartholomew Parapolo, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism;
Samuel Manetoali, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Forestry and Research;
Nestor Ghiro, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening;
Dr Culwick Togamana, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Environment and Conservation;
Connelly Sandakabatu, MP, as Minister for the Ministry of Public Service.
The remaining ministers are expected to take their oath of office and oath of allegiance tomorrow.
