The Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM) will hold its 14th General synod next week.
Being the highest decision making body of the church, the synod will be chaired by the primate of the Church the Most Reverend David Vunagi.
Delegates will hear and discuss reports on the life of the Church from its various activity centres since the last meeting was held in 2011.
A statement from the church today says the delegates will also discuss bills relating to amendments to the constitution of the Church and debate motions on any aspects of the life of the Church.
This will be a huge challenge as it will only take a week to complete all synod business from the normal two weeks duration.
The statement said this is due to the National General Election that falls on the second week of the synod according to original plans.
Seventeen member delegates from Vanuatu had already arrived on Sunday and few others within the country.
Over 80 synod members including observers and support staff are expected to be attending.
An official welcome ceremony for delegates attending will be on Saturday followed by an opening service on Sunday and synod proper on Monday.
Being held every three years, all synod activities will be convened at the St. Barnabas Cathedral.
The Church requests its members to pray for all delegates as they assemble for this very important meeting.
