Honiara music lovers are in for a treat as the Aelan Riddim Music Festival returns for an epic show this weekend in Honiara.
First launched last year, the festival aims to celebrate Pacific music, culture, and unity by connecting artists from across Melanesia and local performers on one stage.
Artists from Papua New Guinea (PNG), Fiji, and Vanuatu are preparing to take the stage after arriving in the country ahead of the event.
The artists were officially introduced during a press conference held in Honiara today, bringing together organisers, media representatives, and performers.
Organising committee member Wally Pazzi said the event is more than just entertainment, describing it as a platform that strengthens regional connections while promoting Pacific talent and creativity.
“This event is going to be a new experience, and we’re looking forward to the artists performing.
We’re expecting the show to be exciting as there is a strong lineup. We’re also providing a platform for our artists to collaborate, meet, and get to know each other,” he said.
Artists set to perform at the event include KU KI and Naomi from Fiji, Tasik Yard (Wild Pack), Danielle and Kronos from PNG, and Shazza from Vanuatu, alongside renowned local artists from the Solomon Islands.
Prominent Fijian musician KU KI encouraged the public to come out and support the event, promising energetic performances, island vibes, and an unforgettable experience for music lovers.
“I’m feeling absolutely excited. Having been in the industry for almost 13 years, I’m more excited than nervous. Those who haven’t heard me perform live can expect high energy, great vibes, and a very interactive set. I’d love to connect with the people,” KU KI said.
The festival will be held on the evening of Saturday, May 30th, at the Pacific Crown Hotel in Honiara.
It is sponsored by Solbrew, Pacific Crown Hotel, Tourism Solomons, and Air Niugini, along with several supporting sponsors.
