The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock will launch the second component of its Rural Development Project this Friday.
The project is aimed towards addressing the country’s national objectives of poverty reduction and inclusive economic growth whilst improving the enabling environment for rural based stakeholders activities.
Project Manager Gabriel Hiele says it will focus mainly on Agri-Business partnerships.
“It will concentrate on Agri-Business Partnership and this partnership mainly looks at agri-businesses and then try to look at how best the Ministry can use these businesses to reach out to the farming communities and local farmers in the rural areas.”
Mr Hiele says the project will run throughout this year and the next five years.
Minister for Agriculture Augustine Auga will officiate the Launch at the Mendana Hotel.
