Solomon Airlines has announced it will continue to operate its services to and from Port Vila as normal.
In a statement, General Manager Operations and Commercial, Gus Kraus said they have conducted an immediate review of the airport’s runway and concluded that conditions were safe from a flight operational perspective.
He said passengers and crew safety remains an absolute priority for the Airlines and they would act accordingly if there are doubts.
Mr Kraus said they have decided to conduct their own review of the runway, which in part was done in consultation with their Airbus A-320 Manager International Flight Operations and Flight Examiner last Saturday.
He said they concluded that the runway is safe and they will continue to maintain operations with the Airbus A-320 into and out of the airport as normal.
