The Leader of Opposition has called on the NCRA Government to urgently allocate funds for the country’s New Voter Registration Project.
Dr Derek Sikua made the call after learning that the date proposed to begin the biometric voter registration on Thursday is now delayed, due to a lack of government funding for the project.
In a press statement today, the Opposition leader described the lack of funding situation as ‘surprising’ especially when the Prime Minister had just announced that a clean and fair election is one of his Government’s ten priorities for this year, 2014.
