ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY TO HONIARA THIS SUNDAY

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby was enthroned in March last year, as the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury and is the Spiritual Leader of about 80 million Anglicans worldwide.

All Anglican Communions around the world were represented by their Primates at the occasion.

Archbishop David Vunagi represented the Solomon Islands Anglican Communion at the event last year.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Vunagi says while the visit is private and low key, Archbishop Welby will make courtesy calls on the Governor General, the Prime Minister and the British High Commissioner in Honiara.

“Archbishop Justin Welby’s visit this time will be strictly private but he is here purposely to meet with me in my capacity as the Primate of the Province of the Anglican Church of Melanesia. It is for that reason that we have more meeting times in his program to be more private. Nevertheless, while the Archbishop’s visit is strictly low key and private we have included in the program for him to make courtesy calls to the Governor General, the Prime Minister and the British High Commissioner.”
