The closure of the only Chemist shop in Auki means people around Malaita in general no longer have access to medical prescription services.
SIBC’s stringer for North Malaita John Kiri reports, people living in Auki do not have an alternative medical supply when Kilu’ufi hospital runs out.
He said, people have now missed the reliable services provided by the Chemist.
“It’s a sad thing to see the only chemist shop in Auki closed its doors to the Malaita public who rely very much and benefited from its service. A lot of concerned people I asked expressed they really missed the service.”
Kiri adds, people are calling on the shop’s management to reopen the service as it is the only reliable services throughout Malaita province.
