‘BRING IT ON’, Dr SIKUA TOLD PM SOGAVARE

The Leader of the Parliamentary Independent Group Hon. Dr. Derek Sikua has welcomed the proposed legal action by Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare on the allegation that he was involved in the events leading up to the 5th June 2000 coup.

This follows a threat by Prime Minister Sogavare that failure by Doctor Sikua and former MP Nollen Leni to prove his involvement in the ethnic tension will result in legal redress.

But welcoming the threat, Mr. Sikua says, he will have to meet Mr. Sogavare in court.

In a statement, Dr. Sikua challenged the Prime Minister to ‘Bring it on’ adding they are happy to defend themselves in court for the good of the country.

Dr. Sikua said at the end of the day, the truth must prevail.

He said the Prime Minister must be ready to answer for his unwarranted actions done and redress the victims of the ethnic crises.

The Parliamentary Independent Leader said, he will not furnish the PM’s office within seven days as demanded but will do so to the rightful authorities when the time is right.

He adds, the PM should not be astounded as this is the right time to ask the hard questions; it is time for truth seeking.
