The Central Islands Provincial Government is seeking the national government to establish an entity to be known as the Central Province’s Development Authority (CPDA) to oversee major projects under consideration by and for the province.
These projects include the conversion of the Tulagi harbour into an international seaport, setting up of a mini cannery and the construction of a tourist terminal.
The first of these is an initiative by the Central Islands Provincial Government whilst the proposed mini cannery and a tourist terminal are policy intentions of the Democratic Coalition for Change Government.
