Over 600 Catholic Women will be gathering for a week-long program at the Tangarare Catholic Mission Station in West Guadalcanal today.
Catholic Women’s Coordinator for Honiara Arch Diocese, Hilda Thutea told SIBC News the bi-annual gathering is an important event for Catholic Women.
She says the event is held for Catholic Women from the 16 Catholic Parishes throughout the country.
“For Catholic women within the Arch Diocese of Honiara we usually have this celebration bi-annually and it involves women within the 16 Parishes, meaning women from Savo-Russells, Makira, and parts of Guadalcanal usually get together every two years to the celebrations.”
This year’s theme is “Joining together with Faith and Hope.”
The program will end with celebrations of the Catholic Women Feast Day this Saturday.
