Central Islands Provincial Premier Stanley Manetiva has expressed disappointment in the investors of the Geothermal Power Project at Savo, saying they have left out the Provincial Government as a stakeholder.
Speaking to SIBC News today, Premier Manetiva says while he is pleased the project is for development on Savo, he is disappointed that his government is not included.
“The Central Provincial Government is responsible for looking after the three provinces, namely Savo, Ngella and Russells, and this Geothermal investor is on Savo island, where they would like to develop electricity which for me is very good to consider such a development that will have changes on the island, but the Geothermal investment on Savo is so silent that they have sidelined the Central Provincial Government.”
