The Chief Justice, Sir Albert Palmer has clarified the choice made in appointing an expatriate as the country’s new Chief Magistrate.
Chief Justice Palmer during the swearing in ceremony of his worship, John Numapo, said the appointment was made without any favoritism or confusion as suggested by some lawyers in the local media.
“It was a conscious decision taken by us the national judiciary after careful thought to have invited expatriate magistrate appointed at this particular point of time will assist us in realigning, repositioning and redirecting the goals and objectives to improve the delivery of services in the Magistrate’s Court.”
