Children in North Guadalcanal Constituency have received medical treatment for measles and rubella diseases.
Reporting this to SIBC News today stringer Nathaniel Manu says the treatment program has started over the weekend and was carried out by the Guadalcanal Province health division.
Mr Manu says the program aims to control possible spreading of the disease in communities and throughout the country.
“Children at the GIPPOL 2, North Guadalcanal are currently undergoing an immunisation exercise for measles and rubella over the weekend. The immunisation exercise is to curb the spread of these diseases in the communities and the country. The exercise was conducted by a health and medical team from Guadalcanal Province.”
SIBC News understands the program is initiated by the Ministry of Health and Medical Service in the country targeting children under five years old.
