The Choiseul Provincial Government has congratulated the Member of Parliament for East Choiseul Manasseh Sogavare on his election victory as Prime Minister of Solomon Islands.
A government statement today says Deputy Premier Alpha Kimata made the statement when paying a courtesy call on the Prime Minister last week.
Mr Kimata says the Choiseul Provincial Government and the people are so proud that a son of Choiseul is at the political leadership helm of Solomon Islands.
The Deputy Premier and his delegation also informed the Prime Minster about their desire to see the National Government and the Provincial Government jointly implement national projects for Choiseul Province.
In response, Prime Minister Sogavare has assured the Choiseul Deputy Premier that his government will continue to make the Province proud in the discharge of his mandate to the nation.
