A suspect wanted for attacking an off-duty police officer is now in custody on remand charges.
A police statement yesterday said the off-duty officer was walking home when he was stoned by his attackers along the main road at Kakabona and Karaina area at White River, West Honiara.
The statement said the officer escaped with minor injuries as he was chased by the attackers.
Police are investigating the incident as to why he was picked out from the crowd and was cowardly attacked.
