The High Court will deliver its judgement for a former Central Bank Officer charged with more than 30 counts of money laundering and two counts of larceny and embezzlement this week.
Philip Bobongi stood trial last year for allegedly stealing more than $1.7 million of Central Bank’s muted notes.
It was alleged he stole the muted notes between 2007 and 2009 when the bank was in the process of destroying them.
The allegations against him further claim, he used part of the money to pay for properties and some of the muted notes were allegedly found in his brief case when police searched his house.
Bobongi has maintained his innocence over the allegations.
The High Court will deliver judgement on his case on Thursday.
