The Courts will soon deal with offences of domestic violence under the Family Protection Act.
Director of Public Prosecutions, Ronald Bei Talasasa told SIBC News in a recent interview.
He says they will prosecute offenders under the Act as soon as they receive confirmation from the Court Administration that a courtroom is allocated, adding there will be no further delays.
“In terms of the management of cases or the administration part of this is once we receive the confirmation from the Court administration that they have set aside a court now and able to hear the cases, then people arrested will be put to court, so there will be no further delays in dealing with the Family Protection Act, we’re just waiting for that confirmation which is very soon.”
SIBC News understands a courtroom will be allocated to deal with cases under the Family Protection Act.
