The Minister of Culture and Tourism and Member of Parliament for Ngella Bartholomew Parapolo has announced, his ministry is working with the National Provident Fund (NPF) to build a hotel resort on NPF land in the Central Islands Provincial capital, Tulagi.
Hon Parapolo announced this at the 34th Second Appointed Day Anniversary celebration in Tulagi Monday this week.
The Minister said the development of the site will further enhance tourist visitor arrivals in the Central Province.
Mr. Parapolo explained, this will become the main hub for tourist visits to most parts of the Central Islands Province as it will help fill up most small tourism business operations in villages around the province.
He said his Ministry is keen to work closely with the Central Islands Provincial Government and genuine local tourism operators in the province in driving tourism as one of the major income earners for the province.
The Minister said genuine tourism operators are those ‘who receive tourist visitors every week and use tourism funding they get from his ministry for its rightful purpose.
