Victims of the recent Tropical Cyclone Raquel in East Malaita have finally received their relief supplies today.
This follows a delivery of more than 500 kilograms of rice by the Member of Parliament for East Kwaio, Stanley Festus Sofu.
SIBC’s East Malaita stringer Enoch Idui reports.
“Five hundred and twenty-kilogram bags of rice have been distributed to the cyclone victims of Ward 17 of East Kwaio Constituency after the Cabinet has approved funds. East Kwaio MP Stanley Festus Sofu then released the relief supplies to the victims along the Kwaibaita river.”
SIBC News understands, Cabinet had approved $5 million to secure relief supplies for the victims of Cyclone Raquel.
