The Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government is committed to assisting the Solomon Games Council to ensure the 2016 Solomon Games is competitive and the best ever.
A statement from the Solomon Games Council said the 2016 Solomon Games is an opportunity to give the National Sporting Federations the chance to scout for potential talents.
It said potential players are to represent the country in both the regional and international events such as the Olympics.
The Government understands that local fans want nothing less than a Gold from our athletes taking part in any regional tournaments such as the Pacific Games.
Meanwhile, the Council said the government’s commitment to stage competitive and well-managed games is a very important step towards athlete preparations.
The Council said they will meet shortly to deliberate on issues affecting the Solomon Games 2016.
