Parliamentary debate on the ‘Family Protection Bill 2014’ has been adjourned after its second reading today.
Minister for Justice and Legal Affairs Commins Aston Mewa moved the Bill in its second reading in parliament this morning.
Minister Mewa says the Bill was drafted to ensure all homes and communities are peaceful and safe for all members of the family.
Speaker of Parliament Sir Allen Kemakeza then adjourns debate on the Family Protection Bill 2014 to the next government business day.
“Thank you Honourable Members, the question is that the Family Protection Bill 2014 be adjourned to the next government business day. Will those in favour please say ‘I’…those against say ‘No’, I think the I’s have it, the I’s have it. The debate on the Family Protection Bill 2014 therefore stands adjourned to the next government business day.”
SIBC News understands, tomorrow is private members motion day and the bill have been moved to next week.
