The Diabetic Retinopathy within the Regional Eye Centre at the National Referral Hospital is encouraging diabetic patients to a regular eye check.
Diabetic Retinopathy Officer, Edith Fanega explains, people must understand that diabetes can affect patients eyes.
Ms Edith said prevention or early detection is important to avoid eye disease complication.
She adds simple balanced diet is a strategic remedy.
She appeals to people living with diabetes to check their eyes early at the Regional Eye Centre, National Referral Hospital.
“If you already have diabetes, please make sure your eyes are checked and do call in at REC or the Regional Eye Centre at the NRH if you want to find out more – if you are confirmed a diabetic patient, thank you.”
