The Deputy Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga has urged the public to direct their concerns to the Police if they have any queries about their work.
Ms. Matanga made the comment following a question raised in the weekly police media conference regarding nepotism practices in recruiting police officers.
“If anyone has any concerns regarding that process I appeal on him to come forward and let us know so that we can get back to him regarding his concern.”
She added when recruiting police officers, the force is trying very much to be transparent.
“The message I would like to leave here is that Police are here for everyone and we are always trying to ensure there is fairness in all we do and that’s what we would always emphasise.”
SIBC News understands, earlier this week there were reports of nepotism in police recruitment processes in North Malaita.
Meanwhile, the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force’s (RSIPF) Liquor Unit and Crime Response Unit (CRU) have raided two separate locations at Mbokonavera recently.
They approached the EZZY Taxi base first, where they confiscated 10 cartons of SB beer, 10 crates of Solbrew and 77 loose Solbrew bottles as well as apprehended an adult male suspect from Malaita province.
A second raid was conducted around the Bahai’i hot spot area, where seven crates of Solbrew, eight cartons of SB and three Solbrew beer cartons, as unclaimed Liquor, were confiscated.
The operation confiscated a total of 18 cartons of SB, 17 crates of Solbrew, three cartons of Solbrew cans and 77 loose Solbrew bottles of beer.
Police have dealt with the male suspect who will appear at the Honiara Magistrate court at a later date.
