Police and Teachers’ salaries will be made available by Wednesday this week ahead of the lockdown period.
This was confirmed by the Government following questions regarding the payment of salaries for these sectors this week.
The early payment will be made ahead of the 36 hour lockdown period which begins on Wednesday 20 May at 6:00pm.
The Lockdown is a measure to test our readiness to handle any entry of covid-19 in the country.
So far Solomon Islands is among few other countries in the world that remains covid-19 free regardless of the global outbreak.
The Government is encouraging all Honiara citizens to observe the lockdown orders and regulations.
