East and West Are’are along with Dosio associations in Malaita province have successfully concluded their Easter Convention over the
weekend.
Held annually and started by their forefathers back in the 80’s, the Convention brought together groups from around East and West Are’are as well as the Dosio region of West Kwaio.
Groups from Honiara and Guadalcanal province have also attended the Convention, which gathered over 1-thousand people at Hauhui Church in West Are’are.
Reverend David Maefonea of the South Seas Evangelical Church (SSEC) was the guest speaker at the Convention, who assured the gathering that they have to do something with Jesus, who paid the price for their sins.
A question hammered home at the end of each sermon was ‘What will you do with this Jesus?’, a take-home challenge for everyone who attended the program.
The program ended last Sunday.
