The Ministry of Health and Medical Services has completed a Family Planing Strengthening Training at Tulagi, Central province this week.
Aimed at equipping nurse Aid and registered nurses in the province, the training has been identified as important for adults and children.
Workshop facilitator, Jessie Tarai says a lot of mothers and infants have lost their lives due to complications during childbirth.
Ms. Tarai encourages members of the public to seek family planning advice and stay healthy.
Meanwhile, guest of honour Premier Selwyn Mapuli stressed, family Planning in layman’s language is a synonym for birth control, adding, it encompasses the way married couple plan their family.
Mr Mapuli calls for more family planning awareness in his province to avoid an unplanned pregnancy.
