A successful meeting was recently held by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury and the West Rennell Resource Owners.
The meeting was initiated to finalize Bauxite royalty payments for the landowning groups.
Chair of the West Rennell Resource Council, Dictor Maitaki confirmed the meeting to SIBC News this week.
“So we all agreed to work through them before payments could be released to landowners in the near future.”
SIBC News understands the landowning groups are yet to receive their payments from a total of six bauxite shipments exported since 2014.
