Youths in and around Taro, Choiseul province celebrated their first Youth market Tuesday this week.
The Market took place during a three-day belated international Youth Day celebration and the opening of the new Youth Sports Centre in Taro.
Stalls show casing and selling creative products have been erected. The Government and NGOs have been represented.
Youths in the ‘Young Entrepreneurship Programme’ came from villages in North and South Choiseul and sold some of their made products – traditional bags, crochet bags, chopping boards and other art and crafts.
Youth@Work coordinator in Choiseul, Reywin Taroniara says the market created a new environment for youth to mingle with the public.
The Youth Market concluded with a song competition based on the international Youth Day theme “Youth Civic Engagement” and a quiz competition.
