Prime Minister Hon Jeremiah Manele will not attend the upcoming 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM 2024) due to domestic pressing issues.
Hon Manele in a media conference last week announced the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade Hon Peter Shanel Agovaka will attend on his behalf and represent Solomon Islands at CHOGM 2024.
“My non-attendance is due to few domestic matters that I need to attend to including preparations for parliament the budget process, of course that takes precedent when you have domestic matters that are of critical importance that takes precedent over overseas trips.”
