Forestry industry watchdog, the Solomon Forests Association (SFA) has supported the move by the National Government to clean up the industry.
A statement from SFA said it has been advocating this since the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government came into power last year, but is long overdue.
The statement adds SFA has gone as far as drawing up a code of conduct to regulate logging operations of member companies, which unfortunately to date, the code is yet to be formally adopted by the government.
