The former Constituency Development Officer (CDO) for the Hograno-Kia-Havulei, Edwin Ero has lodged an appeal against a Trade Disputes Panel decision to dismiss his complaint against the Rock Haven Limited.
Edwin Ero formerly worked as the CDO for the constituency, and as General Manager of Rock Haven Limited.
At the end of January last year, he filed for unfair dismissal against Rock Haven Limited at the Trade Disputes Panel.
The Trade Disputes Panel however dismissed his complaint, saying it cannot be pursued because of the illegality of his contract with the company.
In his appeal against the TDP decision, Mr Ero is claiming the panel is wrong to entertain an oral submission by Rock Haven, without giving notice to him and without filing any formal application that his contract was illegal.
His appeal also takes on his termination from the Public Service as a Constituency Development Officer, on grounds that the letter of termination issued to Mr Ero by the Permanent Secretary for Public Service was and is not a law of Solomon Islands.
The former CDO wants a court order to quash the Trade Disputes Panel decision, and reinstate his complaint against Rock Haven Limited.
The High Court is yet to hear the case.
