Two former Members of Parliament have been called in for questioning at the National CID Unit.
They are Bradley Tovosia, the former MP for East Guadalcanal and the former MP for South Choiseul, Elijah Doromuala.
Details of why they are being invited are still sketchy, but reports reaching SIBC News say police acted on warrants from the Leadership Code Commission.
The reports also say the warrants are mainly related to the MPs’ failure to do retirements of the funds.
Meanwhile, when contacted by SIBC News this evening, the Police Media Unit said the former MPs were invited to be interviewed at the National CID.
The Police Media Unit however said they cannot confirm if the two former MPs’ are facing arrest.
SIBC News understands, the Guadalcanal Premier Anthony Veke has also been called in for questioning.
Meanwhile, the former MP for East Guadalcanal Bradley Tovosia has denied he has been called in for questioning.
Mr Tovosia told SIBC News he has also not received any invitation to go to the National CID Unit for questioning.
“Well this is a pure lair, I have just returned this morning and I have been in town and I haven’t received any police calls, no police arrests, nothing whatsoever”.
The former East Guadalcanal MP also said he has made retirements on the use of Rural Constituency Funds to the Ministry of Rural Development.
When contacted by SIBC News, the Premier for Guadalcanal Province Anthony Veke also says he has not received any invitation for questioning by the National CID.
“I don’t receive any invitation recently to go and talk about anything in regards to those allegations”.
