Minister for Mines and Energy Moses Garu says the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill 2014 will introduce a new mining tax regime for the country.
Minister Garu explains the Bill compliments changes that are proposed in the Income Tax Amendment Bill 2014.
He made the statement in Parliament today during the second reading of the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill 2014.
He says together the bills introduce a new mining tax regime.
“The Ammendment brought about by the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill 2014 complements changes proposed in the Income Tax Amendment Bill 2014. Together Sir, the Bills introduce a new mining tax regime.
SIBC News understands deliberation on the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill 2014 was adjourned pending a report from the Bills and Legislation Committee.
