GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE MAJOR CONCERN FOR SOLOMONS: JIMSON

“Today it is the time to encourage our women and girls that it is possible to be lifted from their oppression and silence if they are empowered to take charge over their own lives. This is the time for women and girls of Solomon Islands to be inspired by the many noble efforts and achievement we have met.”

The Minister stressed International women’s day present our women and girls unique time and space to be more visible in terms of their skills, talents and abilities.

“It is time which lifts you to another level, one that showcases your work and acknowledged the sacrifices that you have made. There is strength in you which you should harness, there is potential in you which must be recognised and utilised. “Making it Happen” must mean that we lift ourselves to a distance, one that recognises the potential in you and the values which characterise you as a person and as the women of our beloved nation Solomon Islands.”
