Georgia’s Ambassador to Solomon Islands His Excellency Vladimir Konstantinidi has made a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo today.
During the brief meeting, Prime Minister Lilo congratulated the first ever Georgian envoy to the country for accepting to serve in the region.
Prime Minister Lilo says Solomon Islands can learn from countries like Georgia and highlighted his admiration for Georgia’s expertise in reform and the initiative of the Public Service Hall.
Georgia’s Public Service Hall is an agency of the Georgian government which provides a variety of public services at public service halls throughout the country.
Mr Lilo says although Georgia and Solomon Islands are distantly apart, Georgia’s commitment to strengthen relations between both countries is overwhelmingly welcomed.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Konstantinidi says, Georgia is committed to improve current relationship and engage with more bilateral talks to explore comprehensive opportunities between the two countries.
The Georgia envoy also expressed condolences on behalf of the Georgian government and people for the victims of the April flash floods.
Georgia and Solomon Islands have established diplomatic relations in March 2011.
Georgia is located at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe with a territory of almost 70-thousand square kilometers and a population of almost 5 million dollars.
