International gospel reggae band Christafari arrived in Honiara yesterday ahead of a nationwide evangelistic tour that will see the group perform a series of free concerts across Solomon Islands.
The band’s arrival marks the start of its third ministry outreach in the country, with performances planned in Western Province, Malaita Province, and Honiara over the next two weeks.
The tour begins in Noro with two concerts at Tuna Park on July 17 and 18 before moving to Auki’s APS Field for performances on July 22 and 23.
The mission will conclude with a two-night grand finale at the Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) car park at Point Cruz in Honiara on July 25 and 26.
Christafari says the outreach aims to share the message of the Gospel while encouraging hope and reminding communities that they are loved.
Pastor and founder Mark Mohr said, “The first time was special, as was the second time, and returning for the third time feels like coming home.”
“If you know anyone who is suffering or struggling personally, bring them to the concert to experience hope and encouragement through the music and message,” he said.
Mohr added that he was once a drug dealer until he found his Saviour, and now wants to share that message of hope with others facing similar struggles.
The band is expected to travel across six islands during the mission, reaching thousands of people through music, worship, and ministry.
All concerts are free and open to the public.
