Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has said one cannot deny the degree of discrimination that the country’s governance system creates between men and women.
Prime Minister Sogavare made the statement today in his address during the awards ceremony for recipients of the 2016 Secondary School Essay competition on Women’s Leadership and Political Participation.
He says our Constitution, though establishes the independent sovereign nation of Solomon Islands, it could not foresee the insurmountable challenges to gender equality that our women and girls face in this generation.
