The Government must set up more vocational schools to cater for the country’s school drop-outs.
Stringer Gabriel Riotarau reports, a Marine officer Mathew Isihanua says past Governments have always concentrated on the successful and ongoing students and ignored the drop-outs.
Mr Isihanua says the current curriculum focuses more on theory than practical skills and drop-outs do not have skills to enable them find jobs to support themselves.
Mr Riotarau says the marine officer recommends more vocational schools.
“He says he recommends the setting up of more vocational schools and to teach practical subjects like agriculture, fisheries, forestry, life skill because these will help the students when returning home, being equipped with the needed skills that would help them involve directly into economical activities.”
