The National Government is committed to ensuring all school drop-outs throughout the country have access to Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutions.
TVET Director Benedict Kausua made the statement during the Divit Rural Training Centre graduation ceremony recently.
Mr Kausua said TVET institutions allow Solomon Islanders to actively participate in the country’s economic development.
“Ladies and gentlemen, through the National Government’s program of action, my department is committed to ensuring that all out of school Solomon Islanders are accessible to the TVET institutions where they can actively participate in the economic development of the country. To achieve this, my department is prioritizing improvements through policies and operations to increase access, quality and management of Technical Vocational Education Training.”
The TVET Director adds education authorities and the Ministry of Education and Human Resources needs to improve existing trade courses to ensure data and information are consistent and useful for students.
