More than three-quarter of persons living in poverty in Solomon Islands live on Guadalcanal, Makira, and Malaita provinces according to the recently launched Solomon Islands Poverty Profile survey.
Launched this week, the report indicates, even though poverty incidence is higher than the national average in Honiara, it accounts for less than six percent of the poor in the country given the smaller number of people living in the city as compared to those in the provinces.
The report says the National poverty rate increases with the age of the household head.
