Outgoing Premier for Guadalcanal province Anthony Veke has retained his seat for Tangarare ward, West Guadalcanal in this week’s provincial election.
Premier Veke polls a total of 573 votes against his runner-up Welshman Pugi who polls 435 votes.
Meanwhile, Wanderer Bay ward has a new provincial member.
He is Lionel Longarata with 335 votes against his runner-up Philip Manekako Junior who polls a total of 315 votes.
Assistant Returning Officer for West Guadalcanal Provincial election John Tebolo made the announcements after counting closed at 8pm last night.
