The Honiara City Council has began a business license inspection on public transport vehicles.
HCC Law enforcement officers are carrying out the inspection with the assistance from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.
Chairman of the Law Enforcement Division Charles Aiwosuga said the operation is to ensure that all buses, taxis and other vehicles providing transport services have a valid business license.
Mr Aiwosuga vehicles providing transportation services must have a business license from the Council before they can operate their businesses.
He said the call is also extended to vehicle owners from East and West Guadalcanal who are operating within the City boundaries.
He also stressed operating without a business license is illegal under the Business ordinance of the Council.
Meanwhile, the Law Enforcement Chairman says he applauds transport service operators who have already paid for their business licenses.
This is the second inspection conducted for the second quarter of this year.
It began yesterday and will end on Friday.
