The Honiara City Council (HCC) had hosted its stakeholders for an open forum on Monday.
The forum was to inform stakeholders of HCC’s Seven meter by-law enforcement, a component of the new executive’s 100 days plan.
HCC’s media unit says during the forum, Honiara City Mayor Alfrence Fatai asked stakeholders to cooperate and contribute to ensuring the campaign is successful.
It states the Mayor also appeals to different government agencies to collaborate with the Council to achieve cleanliness for Honiara City.
It further adds, there’s potential for the city and country in the area of tourism and the best strategy to attract tourists is to keep the city clean.
Meanwhile, Mr Fatai urges every shop owners and residence to take care of their surrounding rubbish disposal and less reliance on the Council’s rubbish collection schedule.
The HCC Seven metre by law will be imposed on the 1st of February.
