The Honiara City Council (HCC) direct employees have received a 5 percent cost of living adjustment (COLA) in their salaries effective from 1st January 2024.
The 5 percent COLA was passed by the city council late last year in December 2023.
In a statement, the Lord Mayor Councilor (Cr) Eddie Kasuteé Siapu highlighted that HCC as a legitimate institution will continue to show its commitment to serve the interests of its employees and city residents.
“With the 5 percent COLA increase in employees’ salaries, I hope all my employees will be satisfied and serve the city council diligently,” Lord Mayor explained.
He thanked all the hardworking councilors, city clerks, management, and staff for their brilliant efforts in ensuring the idea of increasing the employee’s salaries must be implemented.
He said employees are now receiving and enjoying their 5 percent COLA this year 2024.
