The Honiara City Mayor, Andrew Mua says the Honiara City Council, HCC, has proactively addressed a number of issues fundamental to Honiara’s fast growing population.
Lord Mayor Mua made this statement during his official speech in this week’s Independence Anniversary Celebration.
He says progress have been made in the construction of the Mataniko Dental Clinic, Ranadi landfill site and improvement of rubbish collection system.
Mr Mua adds, HCC has also rehabilitate and construct a number of community access and facilities.
He adds, greater transparency and accountability in council services and resources has been a priority.
Mr Mua says the Honiara City Council is also working in partnership with the community and stakeholders in many other areas through participatory activities.
He says his government is thankful to the donor community and development partners for their contributions in improving Honiara City.
