A heavy rain warning has been issued for the country.
The Solomon Islands Meteorological Service said the heavy rain alert is now upgraded to heavy rain warning and is enforced for all provinces.
This results from a trough situation, lying over the Solomon Islands.
Communities living close to hill slopes, large rivers, streams, and low lying areas are, therefore, advised to take precautionary measures as such localized heavy rain may lead to landslide and flooding.
Sea travelers and motorists are also urged to consider safety actions during this time.
