Caretaker Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Small Malaita Rick Hou has hit out at a front page article on Solomon Star newspaper yesterday naming him as a candidate for the Prime Minister’s post.
A statement from the Government Communication Unit today reports, Mr. Hou as saying the article was not true as this has never been discussed at the party level and even within the Solomon Islands Peoples Democratic Coalition (SIPDC).
Mr Hou says if there were discussions on this issue, SIPDC would have already come out with their candidacy for the top post.
