INDONESIA TO FUND FUTSAL STADIUM

Grants to build a Futsal Stadium will be released this year ahead of the 2023 Pacific Games.

A Government statement said this is according to the Indonesian Ambassador accredited to Solomon Islands, His Excellency Andriana Supandy during his courtesy visit to Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare on Wednesday this week.

His Excellency Supandy said Indonesia is happily committed to support Solomon Islands in its preparation to host the 2023 Pacific Games, and they are hopeful the grants will be released this year.

In response, Prime Minister Sogavare acknowledged Indonesia’s kind gesture in realising the need to assist the Solomon Islands Government in its quest to hosting the Pacific Games.

He said the Pacific Games is an event that unites more than four thousand athletes around the pacific region under the banner of sports.

The Prime Minister said the Games will see positive changes in terms of infrastructural developments which will benefit the country even after the games.
